6th Annual Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Heimerdinger Foundation and various celebrities came together to honor the memory of former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Heimerdinger on June 16th and 17th.

The Heimerdinger Foundation hosted the 6th Annual Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction at the Vanderbilt Legends Club and Embassy Suites Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. The two-day annual event is held in memory of former Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and raised money for the foundation’s Meals 4 Health and Healing program.

Mike Heimerdinger coached for thirty-five years with fifteen of those in the National Football League for the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets.  In November of 2010, Heimerdinger was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and sought to find answers by making changes to his diet and lifestyle.  The information gained throughout his journey has provided the opportunity for his wife, Kathie Heimerdinger, to honor her late husband and give back to the community he loved through The Heimerdinger Foundation Meals 4 Health and Healing program.

Celebrities that played golf on Friday, June 16th are: Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn and musician Steve Cropper joined Titans/Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher. Current and former Tennessee Titans players Kenny Amato, Keith Bulluck, Kevin Dyson, Cortland Finnegan, Marc Mariani, Zach Pille and Michael Roos will also be on hand.  Other current and former athletes joining the lineup are Charles Davis (NBA), B.J. Finney (NFL) and Scott Wells (NFL) and Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball Coach Stephanie White.   Media personalities Frank Bassett from Golf Talk America, Rudy Kalis from Channel 4 News, Paul Kuharsky from ESPN, Clay Travis from Fox Sports Radio.  Other celebrities include country newcomer Jillian Cardarelli, Christian recording artist Gary Chapman, comedian Reno Collier and NSYNC band member Chris Kirkpatrick.

The event wrapped up on Saturday, June 17th at the Embassy Suits Cool Springs with a dinner and auction. Multi-award winning Christian artist Gary Chapman served as the emcee for the Celebration.

  • Meals are delivered by volunteer Delivery Angels free of charge to clients in the Nashville community (efforts focused on Davidson and Williamson counties.)
