Nashville-Based Video Strategists Recent Production Lands on Billboard's Top Facebook Live Video Chart

While many in the entertainment industry struggle to understand Facebook's new algorithm changes announced last month, Nashville-based video strategists at Pioplay Livestream embrace the new changes as it reinforces their specific multi-camera production strategy. Their formula for livestreaming content targets measurable results in organic reach, engagement and fan conversions.

Pioplay Livestream client, Keith Urban, broke one million views organically in just 12 hours with a Facebook Live video of his pop-up concert last month at Nashville's Exit/In where he made key announcements to his fans worldwide about his upcoming album and world tour.  Not only did the video reach millions of users organically, but the video also landed on Billboard's recently released Top Facebook Live Video Chart, reporting that Urban's video was the most commented and shared artist video in January with 19,000 comments, 10,000 shares, and 30,000 reactions.  With 1.3 million views in seven days, Urban's video was only one of two artists live videos to surpass one million views.  The Billboard chart is a monthly look at the widest-reaching and most-reacted-to videos posted by musicians on Facebook Live, as tracked by media analytics company Shareablee.  Rankings are determined by a formula that blends reactions, comments, shares and first-seven-days views.

"It was an honor to stream such an incredible show, and we are thrilled that Keith's video did so well on the chart," said Eric Pio, co-founder of Pioplay Livestream. "This has been an incredible journey for us with his team at Borman Entertainment, and we look forward to helping more of Nashville's entertainment industry grow their social media audience through strategic livestreams.

As the entertainment industry tries to understand how Facebook's new algorithm changes will affect their marketing plans and budgets, Pioplay Livestream has tapped into years of Facebook Live research to produce record breaking live videos for multiple clients with a completely organic method, garnering up to 10x larger than average reach, engagement, and new followers.

Last month Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg announced changes to Facebook's algorithm that many feared would make content from brands simply a pay-to-play game.  Zuckerberg admitted that the changes were already in motion at the end of 2017 which resulted in a decrease in overall video reach.  Facebook shifted the algorithm to focus less on passive viral videos and more on videos that encourage meaningful social interactions. Facebook also pointed out in a January newsroom article that users interact 6x more via live videos than regular videos posted online.

Pioplay strategically broadcasts top-notch performances of artists like Urban in the most engaging way possible, reflecting and maintaining the high quality of the artist's talent while bringing the remote audience a one-of-a-kind experience as well.   By focusing on retaining viewership through the entirety of the stream, they are also producing a click through and conversion rate 5x greater than the Facebook national average.  Pioplay Livestream understands that well produced, multi-camera livestreams across the world are typically performing 3 to 4 times better than single camera live videos.

"We love the new algorithm because it is essentially bringing more engaging content to the forefront of Facebook news feeds," said Marissa Pio, co-founder of Pioplay Livestream.  "We worked with Keith's team on a pre-production strategy that allowed his video to reach millions of users organically, landing at the top of the chart and performing up to 4x greater than other artists on the same Top 10 Chart for January."

This husband and wife duo, Eric and Marissa Pio, chose to focus their video production company's efforts in 2017 entirely on livestream production and strategy.  They rebranded their company Pioplay Livestream and spent over a year researching the new platforms and software, testing the latest in live streaming technology, and collecting data from live streams across thousands of pages.
